Disney's Xbox Backwards Compatibility Requests: A Look at the Top Titles
The Xbox Game Preservation website has been tracking the most-requested Xbox backwards compatibility titles, and it's now highlighting Disney as the most popular brand for these requests. With over 117,000 votes, Disney-owned IP is a strong contender for Xbox backwards compatibility support.
The top 10 most-voted Disney IP titles are:
- The Simpsons: Hit & Run (12,488 votes)
- Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions (9,582 votes)
- Deadpool (8,852 votes)
- Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (8,436 votes)
- The Simpsons Game (5,091 votes)
- Spider-Man 2 (4,523 votes)
- Ultimate Spider-Man (4,237 votes)
- Spider-Man: Edge of Time (3,936 votes)
- Marvel: Ultimate Alliance (3,618 votes)
- X-Men Origins: Wolverine (3,399 votes)
However, it's important to note that these are just requests, and there's no guarantee that any of these titles will receive Xbox backwards compatibility support. Licensing issues may prevent some titles from joining the program.
While Disney is the most popular brand for backwards compatibility requests, Skylanders games are also topping the leaderboard for individual games. However, these votes come from a separate audience that tends to only vote for that series and nothing else.
The Xbox Game Preservation website has received over 900,000 votes, and it's hoped that more Xbox backwards compatibility additions will be made in the future, especially now that the initiative has begun rolling out on PC.
